It would be an understatement to say that I am a fan of fine paper. The escort card table, place cards, calligraphy, invitation suite, and signage are the pieces that tie an event together. The silver lining, cherry on top, and bow around the package of the wedding day is how it’s presented. It’s the difference between receiving a newly purchased garment in a plastic bag from a retail store, versus having it wrapped in tissue and boxed. This Wednesday it is my incredible pleasure then to introduce to you, Daley Ann.
Daley creates incredible letters, invitations, and even cups! She has contacts with industrial letterpressers, thermographers, and is an incredible calligrapher herself. She has an intricate knowledge of paper weights, materials, printing inks and options.
Daley graduated from Highland Park in 202 and SMU in 2006. In addition to her custom work for events, her social stationery is tailored for personal correspondence. She can cover any paper element you may need on the spectrum of announcing your engagement, inviting your guests, and thanking them for their support of your new life together.
Her signature script has a whimsical elegance, and I love how she incorporates her artistry with her map designs. To see her work in its different stages is impressive, with full-size images and the scaling process resulting in a map like the one below, you can compare its printing to the letterpress map that opened this post.
New clients will experience her work first hand seeing her calligraphy on the return envelopes for the ‘day of photography guide’ and ‘wedding party information sheet’ included in the new client packets. I look forward to sharing more of her work!
