This is a few days overdue. I don’t feel like I’ve had the opportunity to fully take in its significance, so although it is technically overdue since March 31st, it still feels premature. I’d like to refer to March 31st as my anniversary with my photography business rather than its birthday. This “relationship” has taken a lot of work, and although I am entirely naive to what it takes to raise a child, I’d like to think I’m somewhat more prepared as a result of starting a business from scratch.
I am moving back to Dallas in less than two weeks. The transition back home isn’t the hard part, I am anticipating the transition to be like a catapult. I love the Dallas market. What’s ahead of me? A new network of photographers. Studio Space. Sample Albums. New Lenses… and a lot of growing.
I am gaining experience video-blogging right now and have started working with a group in a 30-day challenge. It’s a project of sorts that feels like I am putting my unfamiliarity with video on display, like an actor placed on a stage without having ever seen the script. The online community is incredible to learn from. Some of the participants also entered to go to Seattle to learn from Jasmine Star and Creative Live.
Here is my entry! I believe we’ll find out tomorrow who of the 94 entries will get to be one of the 6 seats being selected. I have noticed how publishing my goals has helped me to follow through with them. So, here are my goals for blogging this week:
John & Sarah’s pictures are going to be edited and posted on the blog by Friday! Bodie & Marissa’s engagement portraits will be up by Monday! … and be on the lookout… weather permitting, I’ll get to go out to take portraits with Robert & Adair in Eureka Springs, AR this Friday! Lots more to come… For now, I am blown away by this first year of Analytics on the website. Again, I can’t fully grasp all that has happened this past year, nor could I have imagined pursuing this career a year ago. Here’s to hoping, here’s to year two. God is good.

John…just watched your vlog for today. Can’t wait to see Part II of the story…and I love how you ended it. A great reminder to us every day! Take care!
